Acoustic headgear

What if your HVAC installation became your main regulatory risk?

In data centers, commercial buildings and industrial sites, the noise generated by HVAC systems can quickly exceed authorized thresholds – resulting in regulatory sanctions, operating constraints and image impact.

Acoustic control is no longer an option. It’s a strategic issue.

What's at stake?

Ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems naturally generate high levels of sound power. In addition, high air velocities, turbulence and regenerated aerodynamic noise can amplify noise emissions.

In demanding environments (data centers, power plants, dense urban areas), these emissions can :

  • Causing regulations to be exceeded
  • Complex operations
  • Increase energy consumption
  • Endangering service continuity

The challenge is global: acoustic, aeraulic, energetic and structural.

A complete aeroacoustic engineering solution

Groupe Boët’s acoustic shrouds are designed as genuine aero-acoustic engineering equipment, to be integrated into the suction and/or discharge side of HVAC equipment.

Each solution is tailored to actual operating conditions. It combines several physical principles to guarantee effective noise reduction while preserving the system’s aeraulic performance.

The system is based on the integration of silencers with absorbing baffles, combined with controlled airflow channelling to dissipate acoustic energy by absorption. This design limits direct noise transmission and greatly reduces regenerated aerodynamic noise.

The entire sizing process is optimized thanks to advanced numerical modeling using Ansys, enabling precise anticipation of acoustic and aeraulic performance.

Technical features & competitive advantages

High-performance sound attenuation

Acoustic shrouds are dimensioned to achieve a typical overall attenuation of 10 to 35 dB(A), depending on site constraints. Performance is calculated by octave band, and includes regenerated aerodynamic noise, to guarantee reliable results under real-life conditions. Sizing is based on ISO 7235, ISO 3744 and ISO 3746 standards.

Advanced airflow optimization

The design preserves the performance of HVAC installations thanks to controlled air speeds (generally < 10 m/s) and limited pressure drops (40 to 120 Pa). Flows are optimized by CFD modeling, ensuring compatibility with fan curves while limiting turbulence and energy impact.

Robust, compliant structure

The covers are dimensioned in accordance with Eurocode 0, 1 and 3 to guarantee their mechanical strength. Their structure is based on a galvanized steel frame, protected against corrosion in compliance with ISO 12944, ensuring durability and reliability in industrial environments.

Modular, customized architecture

Each solution is tailor-made to fit existing HVAC equipment. The package typically includes an acoustic enclosure, sound-absorbing baffles and aeraulic optimization devices, complemented by removable hatches or panels for easy maintenance. This modular architecture makes it easy to integrate into existing supports.

Measurable added value

Secure regulatory compliance

Performance justified by standardized calculations and validated on acceptance.

Quantifiable energy savings

Optimized design to limit load losses and power consumption over the entire operating cycle.

Business continuity

Maintain nominal flow rates and operational reliability, even at critical sites.

Reducing technical risks

Anticipation of real operating constraints right from the design phase.

Scientific sizing

Turnkey offer

Groupe Boët supports its customers throughout the entire project cycle.

The engineering teams first carry out the studies and design, including layout and execution drawings, acoustic, aeraulic and mechanical calculation notes, and the numerical modelling required for dimensioning.

Manufacturing is then carried out under strictly controlled conditions, with in-house production or qualified sourcing guaranteeing perfect component compatibility and rigorous quality control.

Logistics benefit from full traceability and secure transport to guarantee on-time delivery and equipment integrity.

On-site installation can be carried out under expert supervision, in compliance with safety standards and integration constraints.

Finally, standardized acoustic measurements are carried out at acceptance to establish a compliance report and validate performance.
