Custom acoustic louvres: an urban regeneration project in Paris with Groupe BOËT
Renovation of a parking lot into a mixed-use building
As part of a project to refurbish a former parking lot into a mixed-use building in Paris, Groupe Boët was commissioned by Bouygues Construction to design and integrate high-performance acoustic grilles. The aim was to deal with the noise generated by the ventilation and air-conditioning systems (VRV, CTA, air-conditioning units) while respecting the constraints of a dense urban site.

The acoustic and aeraulic challenges of the project
The project presented several major challenges. Acoustic requirements were stringent, with an obligation to significantly reduce the noise emitted by the technical installations. At the same time, pressure losses had to be limited to acceptable levels to ensure optimal equipment operation.
Another critical point was the elimination of the risk of sound regeneration, which can occur in the event of excessive air velocity through the louvers. Finally, integration space was limited, complicating the design and layout of the louvers.
Groupe BOËT’s solution: custom-made acoustic grilles
To meet these requirements, Groupe BOËT has designed custom-made Acoustic Louvers, capable of achieving certified performances ranging from 9 to 23 dB. This equipment has been designed to guarantee an excellent compromise between acoustic insulation and aeraulic performance, thanks to minimized pressure drops. The custom-built units are perfectly integrated, even in cramped environments.
A complex, perfectly integrated installation
The rooftop installation required special logistics, with craning from the street and rope access. Beyond technical performance, particular attention was paid toarchitectural integration. The acoustic louvres were designed to harmonize with the design of the facades imagined by the architect, thus ensuring aesthetic continuity while meeting acoustic constraints.
